PLEASE REVIEW THIS WEBSITE THOROUGHLY. This Website will orient you to your new CDes program and direct you to your next steps toward advising and registration for fall 2012. Note: There is NO on-campus College of Design orientation for students transferring from within the U of M system.
Your major and APAS report will be updated to the College of Design within a week of your admission notification. If you have questions about your APAS report, talk to your new CDes adviser. If you'd like to see how your classes transfer to your CDes major BEFORE your APAS report is updated, you can print out a "What If" APAS when you sign in to the above APAS report site.
BEFORE meeting with your new CDes adviser you MUST review thoroughly the information on this page plus the New Student (Advising) Web page for your major.
Major-related transfer courses from inside or outside of the U of M will NOT meet requirements in your MAJOR unless you get your syllabi and coursework reviewed by faculty. Go HERE for preliminary submission instructions, and contact me immediately at LGILBERT@umn.edu or 612-624-6250 with questions and to initiate this review process.
To assist you in preparing for registration and orienting yourself to the Twin Cities campus please consider the following checklist.
--In order to register on the Twin Cities (TC) campus you must set up a TC e-mail address. To do that call 612-301-HELP for assistance.
--Complete online orientation. Note: this tutorial was designed for students transfering from outside the U of M system. In any case, online orientation covers many U of M resources, programs, and services that students transfering from a coordinate campus may not know.
--If you need to, you can review the U of M class selection tutorial before registering so you understand how to register online.
--Get your U Card if you don't have one from your coordinate campus.
--Check out Campus Maps to help you navigate the Twin Cities Campuses!
