Welcome Class of 2016!
Congratulations and welcome to the College of Design! We're glad you are joining our CDes community, and we'll do all we can to help you get started at the U. From this point on, you'll receive information about the Dean's Reception, orientation, placement exams, and other important details you need to attend to before classes begin. Be sure to initiate your email account and check your U of M email frequently, as this is our official method of communication with you!

May 1, 2012: Fall 2012 Enrollment confirmation deadline
The deadline to confirm your enrollment for fall 2012 is May 1, 2012. When you confirm your enrollment, you are declaring your intent to attend the University of Minnesota, and we will reserve a place for you in the incoming class. Students who confirm their enrollment will receive a fall 2012 orientation invitation.
To confirm your enrollment simply return the enrollment confirmation form (included with your U of M admission letter) and the confirmation fee to the Office of Admissions by May 1, 2012. Confirmation forms and fees received after the May 1, 2012, postmark priority deadline are accepted on a space-available basis.
Fall 2012 Freshmen Orientation: June/July 2012
Orientation letters will start arriving in the mail in March 2012 to students who have confirmed their enrollment for the fall term. Students who have received their orientation letter can begin choosing their orientation date on April 4, 2012.
