AIA/AAF Minority Disadvantaged Scholarship Program
The AIA/AAF Minority Disadvantage Scholarship provides assistance to high school graduates, college freshmen, and community college students from a minority and/ or financially disadvantaged background who intend to pursue a NAAB- accredited professional degree (5-year BA or BA + MA) in Architecture.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be legal residents of the United States and either:
• High school seniors entering a NAAB-accredited professional program in architecture,
• College freshmen attending a NAAB-accredited professional program in architecture, or
• Technical school or community college students that have completed high school or its equivalent and intend to transfer to a NAAB-accredited professional program.

ASID David Barrett Memorial Scholarship

Awarding
$12,000, the biennial David Barrett Memorial Scholarship recognizes an
outstanding undergraduate or graduate student's work that demonstrates a
continuing interest and ability in utilizing classical designs and
traditional materials, inclusive of furniture and fabrics.
The scholarship is open to all full-time students in their junior or senior year of undergraduate or graduate study majoring in interior design at an accredited college or university. ASID members and nonmembers are encouraged to apply online.
Worldstudio AIGA Scholarships
Deadline: April 1, 2011
Worldstudio Foundation, in conjunction with AIGA, provides
scholarships to minority and economically disadvantaged students who are
studying design and arts disciplines. Among the scholarships’ primary
aims are to increase diversity in the creative professions and to foster
social and environmental responsibility in the artists, designers and
studios of tomorrow. To this end, scholarship recipients are selected
not only for their ability and need, but also for their demonstrated
commitment to positive change in the larger community through their
work.
Basic scholarships are awarded in the amounts of $2,000–$3,000. One
or two top awards may be given in an amount up to $5,000 at the jury’s
discretion. Each award is paid directly to the recipient’s school and
applied toward tuition. In addition, honorable mention prizes in the
amount of $500 cash are also awarded.

Assembly of Architects Scholarship
This scholarship by the Assembly of Architects has been established to support high school and college students of color who wish to pursue a professional education in architecture or architecturally-related fields, and who hold promise for succeeding in such a career pursuit. Scholarship amounts may range from $250-$1000 which may be divided and awarded amongst several qualified recipients. You must be at a minimum educational level of 12th grade (senior in high school). Eligibility is based in part on (and not necessarily in this order):
1. Students whose academic performance and personal interests and aptitude hold
promise for the field of architecture or an architecturally-related field.
2. Students with a demonstrable financial need
3. Students of color

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships for Study Abroad in 2011-12
Opportunities are offered for a year of study abroad in nearly 100 host countries. Rotary Ambassadorial Scholars receive a flat grant of $25,000 to support their studies. May not be used for university-sponsored study abroad programs. Language proficiency requirements apply to some destinations. SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, SENIORS, AND GRADUATES may apply. Must be a citizen of a country with Rotary Clubs. Applicants should have strong academic records and a commitment to service. Initial application is made through a Rotary Club in the applicant's hometown or place of current full-time study. APPLY THIS JANUARY for scholarships for the 2011-12 academic year.
